Somentor™ hydrocarbon fluids

Somentor™ hydrocarbon fluids are produced from mineral oil fractions by hydrogenation and distillation. They are particularly suited for use as basestock fluids in aluminum foil and sheet rolling applications, where ultra-high purity is required.

Somentor fluids are available in multiple grades to accommodate specific requirements.

• Somentor 29, with its low viscosity, is best suited for aluminum foil rolling and can be used as a separation fluid for foil doubling.
• Somentor 32 has an extremely narrow boiling range that reduces evaporation and minimizes the increase of viscosity for consistent operating conditions at the mill bite.
• Somentor 34 offers a high flash point (100°C / 212°F) for severe operating conditions inherent in aluminum sheet rolling.
